What was the origin of Maska?
We started our current venture about 25 years ago, but I’ve been in this field since I was 15. I spent many years in retail before getting married and having kids.
Afterward, my husband and I decided to go back into the business, opening our first store on Sherbrooke - it was an immediate success!
Now, we’ve grown to about 15 stores across Montreal, Toronto, Quebec City, and Vancouver. It took us a few years to truly adapt to each city’s unique preferences.
We prioritize listening to our customers to understand their desires and tastes, and we’re here to show them what’s trending today.
What does clothing mean to Maska?
For us, everything we do ultimately revolves around the customer. They deserve to be treated with respect and listened to attentively. We make it a priority to understand what each client likes, helping them discover the perfect clothes that make them feel both beautiful and comfortable.
We strive to understand and cater to the diverse markets in each city, bringing them exactly what they desire. Our stores are always strategically placed in strong, community-oriented neighborhoods.
Our clothing goes beyond fleeting trends — it’s designed to last. I frequently see customers wearing pieces they purchased from us five years ago. This longevity is the true beauty of clothing — it’s a powerful form of self-expression.
